Our Immunizations

The current immunizations we use here at Boulevard Pediatrics include the following:

Infant/Young Toddler Years:

  1. Vaxneuvance (Pneumococcal disease): a pneumococcal vaccine now covering 15 strains of the bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae.
  2. Rotateq (Rotavirus): a vaccine for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis covering four strains of the virus.
  3. Pentacel: our combination vaccine which includes coverage for Diphtheria, Pertussis (aka whooping cough), and tetanus (DTaP), polio, and Haemophilus influenzae (Hib).
  4. Engerix-B (Hepatitis B): a vaccine for the prevention of Hepatitis B.
  5. Havrix (Hepatitis A): a vaccine for the prevention of Hepatitis A.
  6. ActHib (Hib): an individual vaccine for Haemophilus influenza — used for the final booster of this bacteria.
  7. Daptacel (DTaP): an individual vaccine for DTaP — used for the 4th booster during this age range.
  8. Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): a combination vaccine for the three viruses just mentioned.
  9. Varivax (Chicken pox): a chicken pox vaccine.

Kindergarten Years (beginning at 4 years of age):

  1. MMR: the second dose.
  2. Varivax: the second dose.
  3. Daptacel a final booster.
  4. IPV (Polio): an individual vaccine for polio — the final booster in the series.
  5. Quadracel (DTaP and IPV) or Daptacel and IPV individually.

Tween/Teen Years:

  1. Adacel (Tdap): a vaccine for coverage of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (similar in mindset to Daptacel).
  2. Menquadfi (Meningococcal disease): a vaccine for prevention of serious meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitides, including meningitis, which includes Groups A, C, Y and W-135 of this bacteria.
  3. Gardasil (Human papillomavirus): the first and only cancer preventing vaccine we have available these days.
  4. Bexsero (Meningococcal disease): atoner vaccine for prevention of serious meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitides — Includes Group B of this bacteria.
