Dr. Helen Mitchell is originally from the small coastal town of Fairhope, Alabama. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Richmond in Virginia, where she played division 1 college tennis for four consecutive years. She then went on to teach tennis in New York after graduation before deciding to pursue her medical degree. Dr. Helen graduated from UAB School of Medicine, and completed her residency training at The University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Helen has always been passionate about pediatrics and knew this would be her career choice upon the start of medical school. She loves watching infants grow and develop over a short period of time while also building long lasting relationships with their families.
In her spare time, Dr. Helen loves to play tennis and pickleball. She also likes to cook and bake, spend time out on the boat in the sunshine, attend sporting events, try new restaurants, and loves to spend time with her family. She is also the proud new mother of a baby boy, and she is enjoying navigating this new path of motherhood.
Dr. Helen is currently accepting newborns and children transferring into the practice. Expectant parents are welcome to call the office for a meet and greet during the lunch hour.
